Friday’s Fab Find: Gorgeous crochet lariats
I have just learnt to crochet and have now made the first square towards a blanket for my daughter’s bed. Now I’m fairly confident at making squares I thought I’d try out something new, so I bought a magazine ‘Irresistable Gifts to Crochet’ and found an article (see image below) to make a button and lace lariat.
A lariat is essentially a long accessory worn around the neck. You can double it up or wear it long and singular; wrap it around or loop it through itself. To make a crochet lariat, you only need a long strip of crochet fabric but you can add crochet flowers and all sorts to it to make it more individual.
As a beginner in crochet I thought this would be a great little project for me and a way to use some of my lovely beads and buttons.
Below is a montage of various types of lariats I found on the web. They are very inspiring and I can’t wait to start mine.
