Great day out at ‘Sewing For Pleasure’ and ‘Hobbycraft’ exhibitions
On Saturday my Mum and I went to the NEC for the ‘Sewing for Pleasure’ and ‘Hobbycraft’ exhibitions. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and both bought some interesting things.
These are my purchases:
These ribbons were a bargin and I’ll be using them for a future applique project.
The paper pack below was my show bargain of the day – just £1 for 48 sheets!!
These Cloth magazine caught my eye because they were smaller than your average magazine. I like the smaller magazines. This magazine also appealed to me because it is made from recycled paper and therefore felt really nice in my hand – I also love the print quality – ie not glossy. I bought the last 4 editions.
I bought the big colourful beads below for my daughter to string onto a lace. She picked up the idea in seconds and sat stringing beads for ages, making long ‘wriggly worms’!
These braids were also a bargain and I’m not sure what I’ll use them for yet. They were too beautiful not to buy!
My Mum bought a large roll of unusual wool that she will knit into a scarf that twists itself round and round as she knits it. I can’t wait to see how it turns out!
On whole, we really enjoyed our day and we couldn’t believe how busy it was! We were both a bit disappointed that there were not more fabric stalls but we chatted to some nice people and we’re now looking forward to starting our new craft projects!
